Lawyers representing suspended First Vice President Riek Machar have asked the court to allow independent experts to examine digital evidence presented by prosecutors.
During Monday’s hearing in Juba, defense lawyer Gerry Raimondo Legge questioned whether the forensic report included “hash values,” digital codes used to confirm the authenticity of electronic files.
Government forensic analyst Ratlhogo Peter Calvin Rafadi acknowledged that these verification codes had not been submitted to the court but said they could be shared with an independent expert while maintaining the evidence chain.
