The United Nations has expressed deep concern about escalating violence in Sudan’s Kordofan region, saying the conflict is increasingly endangering civilians.
According to UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric, clashes between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces have intensified in South Kordofan, causing casualties and damaging essential infrastructure.
Humanitarian organizations say key access routes into Dilling have been disrupted, making aid delivery more difficult.
A recent drone strike reportedly hit Dilling General Hospital, killing four patients and injuring several civilians.
The UN stressed that attacks on medical facilities are unacceptable under international humanitarian law.
Violence has also spread to Kadugli and El Obeid, where repeated drone attacks have been reported.
The UN is urging all sides in the conflict to protect civilians and allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need.
